Rochester Fire Station No. 1 was constructed to serve the central downtown area. It is a five-bay, 24,000 sf station with living quarters for 12 fire fighters and can serve up to 36 during emergency situations. Also included are a training room, exercise area and office spaces for the assistant chief. The station was built on the site of the existing station in two stages to allow for continuous operations.
