The Drake Bank is located on the first floor of the 1908 historic Drake Marble Building, a former marble processing warehouse and showroom. The client was looking for a light, open and inviting space. Much of the distinctive character of one of the oldest concrete-frame structures left in the country, was incorporated into the interiors of the bank. The 5,000 sf. space was designed to compliment the building by leaving the original exposed concrete beams and columns unfinished. Offices, and conference rooms were placed on the perimeter for daylighting purposes and border the open-plan lobby. Materials used throughout the space include vibrant and dramatic wall colors, granite counters, custom rugs, stained concrete floors, and custom white maple millwork.
