The new Hopkins Fire Station replaces an outdated facility. The five-bay, 26,000 sf volunteer station includes training room, exercise area, and office spaces for fire department administration. The station incorporates the back-up Emergency Operation Center, a training stair with active standpipe capability, a training balcony rescue simulation, second floor rescue, and roof top rappelling. Additionally, 3 dorm rooms were designed into the project for a future sleep-in program.
The Hopkins Fire Station is the first local fire station to incorporate the “center support” area. This new concept is more popular because it provides better access, more flexibility, and is safer for the firefighters. Hopkins Fire Station is a state of the art facility that provides a permanent home for the Hopkins Fire Administration Staff, firefighters, and training support.
