Collaborative Design Group Creative Thinking... Thoughtful Solutions
Postal Credit Union - Eagan

Collaborative Design Group has provided design services for Postal Credit Union (PCU) for all of their facility initiatives over the last decade. Continuing their drive toward environmentally responsible buildings and sites, PCU’s new branch in Eagan features low-impact site development and highly efficient, sustainable construction. The new office is approximately 3,560 sf and features an innovative open teller arrangement, three drive-thru lanes, a drive-up Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and complete Member and cash services.

While PCU has elected to not pursue formal LEED certification, the building was designed to LEED Gold standard. CDG used extensive daylight and energy modeling processes to develop and test design concepts, and worked with the general and sub-contractors to keep attention to these goals consistent throughout the project.

Sustainable highlights:
  • Geothermal heating/cooling system
  • Daylighting in all spaces
  • High recycled content materials and very high recyclable-potential materials
  • Super-insulated roof
  • Rain gardens to eliminate storm water runoff from site
  • A large portion of the site was restored to natural prairie
  • An innovative, highly flexible open teller arrangement
  • Local sourcing of most materials
